Category Management
Job Type Full Time

Description

Over the last five years, we have supported various local responders in the MENA region, aiding approximately 35 organisations across different crises with our Boxtribute open-source platform.

What will I be doing?
Think of yourself as the operational backbone that challenges humanitarian tech to live up to its promise of creating a better reality for everyone. You'll be the person who sees around corners, connecting the dots between our technical platform, strategic partnerships, and grassroots impact, ensuring that our distributed team actually delivers on our commitments – on time and on budget.

This isn't about micromanaging or endless status meetings. You'll use proven project management frameworks (RACI, RAG reporting, critical path analysis, agile/kanban) to create clarity and momentum across our partnerships, technical releases, and growth initiatives. Your job is to make everyone else's job easier while keeping us accountable to what we’re trying to accomplish.

Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Strategic Alignment

Be our strategic compass – Understand the big-picture goals and make sure every team's daily work actually connects to what matters most
Track progress and dependencies – Monitor project timelines and identify dependencies that could cascade into major delays (nothing derails a timeline like discovering Team A can't finish until Team B wraps up something they haven't even started)
Resource matchmaker – Proactively flag when teams are stretched too thin or have bandwidth to spare, ensuring everyone has what they need to succeed
Accountability through systems that make sense – Keep our project management systems (Slack, Google Workspace) running in a lightweight but effective way so progress is transparent and tasks are easily handed over
Budget and timeline guardian – Monitor spend and delivery commitments against our promised milestones, surface issues early, and help broker solutions before small hiccups become big headaches
The accountability buddy – Keep teammates (and yourself!) on track with deadlines and focused on what moves the needle, using empathy and insight to gently redirect as needed
Cross-Functional Coordination & Facilitation

Support teams moving from concepts to execution by removing friction and ensuring clear processes
Cross-functional literacy – Build a deep understanding of how key workstreams (partnerships, technical releases, analysis & insight) contribute to our mission
Why join?
With Boxtribute, you will

Work directly with a high-impact network of community-based local organisations in Greece, Germany, Ukraine, Calais, Balkans, Lebanon.
Amplify the impact of highly effective, but under-the-radar humanitarian aid grassroots.
Autonomy with support: be mentored by a small, senior core team with real experience in both relief work and in industry (Amazon & fintech startup exit).
Grow your experience working in distributed, multicultural teams - we have team members contributing from all over the world!
Be part of a culture that actively encourages your personal development -- inside and outside the org.
Get a glimpse of the innovation landscape in humanitarian aid, and how tech can safely be used for the benefit of society, including the open source movement.
What Makes This Role Special

Flexible hours, senior-level engagement – €50/hour for 12 hrs/week, with the potential for fixed-rate arrangement (up to €2000/month) for the right candidate
Direct impact on humanitarian systems change – Your work directly influences how aid reaches vulnerable people across multiple crisis zones
Executive mentorship with real skin in the game – Report to our Executive Director, an experienced product owner and programmes manager who's overseen multimillion dollar budgets, and has hands-on relief experience
Cross-sector exposure – Gain rare insight into how humanitarian aid, open-source technology, and systems change intersect at the highest level.
You're probably a great fit if you have

Real-world PM framework experience – You've actually used RACI matrices to clarify who does what, created RAG status reports that teams actually reference, and can spot critical path bottlenecks before they become disasters
Fluency through practice – You don't just know the theory; you've facilitated standups, managed agile backlogs, and generally helped teams work together and iterate their way to better outcomes in real work environments
Strategic thinking with tactical execution – You can zoom out to see how individual tasks connect to big-picture goals, then zoom back in to remove the friction that's slowing teams down
Remote-first experience – You know how to keep distributed teams aligned without burning everyone out on meetings
Nice-to-haves (but not dealbreakers): Experience working with humanitarian organizations, NGOs, or social impact initiatives; experience with active, on-the-ground fieldwork; experience with translating between technical and non-technical teams
