Job Purpose Summary:

The accountant is responsible for supporting the office finance manager in managing accounting and financial data, preparing ledgers and financial records, and ensuring compliance with approved accounting standards at the organization and national level. The accountant will handle preliminary reviews of financial documents and financial reports to ensure compliance with approved budgets and operational standards.

Main Responsibilities and Duties:

Assist in preparing the estimated budget.
Issue Payment vouchers and verify invoices contracts, offer prices, tenders, payment requests, and documents attached with payment vouchers.
Review Purchase Requestion and Invoices on the ERP system and prepare the payment journal on the system then submit it to the Finance manager.
Ensure the compatibility of document amounts with dates and specified amounts as per the regulations.
Verify document validity and compliance with applicable rules, procedures, and signatures.
Monitor petty cash advances to administrative units and ensure that they are utilized as intended and closed on time.
Review and verify employee payroll requests, including monthly deductions, retirement contributions, overtime, allowances, Tax, Social, and bonuses.
Implement insurance procedures for assets and the association's properties against various risks such as theft, loss, or accidents, and ensure sufficient coverage.
Participate in preparing monthly bank reconciliations and send detailed bank statements for review.
Prepare the office's periodic cash balance report and submit it to the finance manager.
Translation of accounting documents, Typing and sending of letters.
Assist in preparing financial data and final accounting reports “Month-end close and Year-end close”.
Maintain all accounting files as required (hard copies and soft copies) on a timely basis.
Ensure compliance with the internal guidelines regarding the risk of theft, armed robbery, corruption, embezzlement, errors, and losses.
Additional Tasks:

Manage monthly reconciliations for employee allowances and advances.
Monitor accounts payable and receivable.
Participate in asset and inventory count committees.
Perform all other accounting-related tasks assigned by the direct supervisor that fall within the scope of the job.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:

Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Preference will be given to candidates with professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or ACCA.

The applicant must have prior experience working with international non-governmental organizations (INGOs).

The applicant must have practical experience with ERP systems, and knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (MCD365) is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 7 years in an accounting department.

Language: Excellent oral and written communication skills.

- Fluency in spoken and written Arabic or English Language.

- Fluency in spoken and written Russian Language.

Skills:

Proficiency in accounting treatments for financial statement items.
Knowledge of annual budget preparation and detailed financial budgets.
Ability to work under pressure and handle tasks before the deadline.
Interpersonal skills and effective communication.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Capabilities:

Ability to prepare detailed financial data for revenues and expenditures and present financial statements as requested.
Responsibility and efficiency in completing tasks.
