We are seeking an experienced professional to lead the financial management and operations support functions of the Finn Church Aid Group.

As CFO, you will serve as the Director of the Finance and Operations Support Department, leading a department of 20 people. You will oversee Finance, Logistics, Operations’ Support, ICT, and Risk and Compliance across the entire FCA Group. The FCA Group is headquartered in Helsinki, Finland, with operations in several countries, some of them in very fragile contexts.

More specifically, you will:

Lead the department and its managers, and engage in a dotted-line capacity with the finance, ICT, and logistics communities across the FCA Group

Proactively analyse and forecast developments in finance and funding, and lead the budgeting and financial planning of the Finn Church Aid Group as a whole

Be responsible for monitoring the organisation’s financial position; identifying financial risks and opportunities; internal and external accounting and reporting; internal controls; and treasury

Lead the development of the Group’s financial management

Ensure that Finn Church Aid Group has the necessary AI tools and support to benefit from AI in programming, fundraising, and other support functions

Oversee logistics activities, including significant procurement responsibilities

Be responsible for the organisation’s risk management and compliance-related activities

Ensure that Finn Church Aid has access to necessary legal services, including expertise in data protection

Be responsible for the organisation’s information management

Successful performance in the role requires:

Vision and experience in leading global financing, financial management, and ICT in an internationally operating organisation, at both operational and strategic levels

Experience with international project funding and a solid understanding of its requirements and regulatory environment

The ability to analyse the operating environment, identify risks and opportunities, and propose changes

The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and to lead change

A relevant academic qualification and strong experience in senior corporate finance roles and ICT management

A proven track record of successful leadership and people management

Strong collaboration skills and a willingness to build networks

Strong oral and written communication skills in English; knowledge of additional languages is considered an asset (e.g., Finnish, French, Arabic)

Experience in procurement, including public procurement, is a strong asset
