Description
As an ESC volunteer at RW, the main focus will be to provide operational, administrative, and documentary support to the Project Officer in managing the organization’s projects in Catalonia. Your role will be to support the monitoring, data collection, and reporting of projects, contributing to the success of the initiatives promoting a Culture of Welcome and decent housing for displaced people.
We are looking for someone who wants to gain experience in administration and project management, documentation, and event management.
Main tasks
Support in the collection, organization, and filing of invoices, receipts, and financial documentation required for Justification Reports (public and private).
Collaborate in the preliminary drafting and review of intermediate and final technical reports under the supervision of the Project Officer.
Maintain the digital and physical archive of the projects organized (entering operational and impact data, indicators, calls for proposals databases, forms, correction requests, etc.).
Assist in the search for information and documentation required for the preparation of new funding proposals and grants.
Enter operational and impact data reported by other departments to ensure project indicators are up to date.
Help prepare materials, meeting minutes, and presentations for the spaces in which the organization participates.
Support, facilitate, and participate in the organization and implementation of events, activities, and training/workshops, manage logistics, and present the project when necessary.
Participate in ESC activities (organizing team-building activities, awareness-raising in schools, etc.).
Provide support to the rest of the team when needed and actively participate in the general activities of the organization.
Requirements
A sociable, proactive person with a vocation for helping others; comfortable initiating contact with unknown people and networking.
Independent and creative, with the ability to contribute ideas, find new ways of doing things, and suggest improvements.
Proactivity and teamwork orientation.
Good level of Spanish.
Flexibility in working hours (to attend activities on Saturdays or events in the afternoons/evenings during the week). Overtime will always be compensated.
Previous experience as a volunteer in third-sector organizations.
Ability to manage deadlines, plan ahead, and anticipate problems.
Familiarity with software tools and interest in learning to use new systems such as Slack, Airtable, and Notion.
Writing skills (for example, writing engaging texts for event promotion and communicating with different key stakeholders).
Enthusiasm and commitment to promoting diversity and social inclusion.
Feminist and intersectional perspective.
Nice to have
University degree or higher vocational training in Social Sciences (Social Work, Cooperation, Political Science, Sociology), Project Management, Administration, or similar.
Knowledge of administrative project management or grant support in the third sector (NGOs/Associations).
Interest in the field of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
Interest in migration, refugees, and asylum.
Knowledge of other languages (Catalan, English, Darija, French, etc.).
Eligibility criteria
To participate in the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) volunteering program, it is mandatory to meet the following criteria:
Be between 18 and 30 years old.
Be a resident of the EU or one of the partner countries mentioned (neighboring countries of the EU).
Be available for 12 months.
Not have previously participated in a long-term ESC volunteering program.
