About MiCT

Media in Cooperation and Transition (MiCT) is a non-profit organisation delivering expert media services in complex and challenging contexts with passion, precision, and agility.

Through collaborative work with partners, MiCT fosters transparent, inclusive, and fair dialogue supporting resilient societies. Operating across three continents and 15 countries, MiCT facilitates journalist training, media content production, research, monitoring, and supports the financial sustainability of media partners.

About the Project:

Since 2022, the MiCT Fellowship for Critical Voices has supported at-risk journalists and media professionals from conflict regions, enabling them to continue their essential work in safety. The programme is part of the Hannah Arendt Initiative and a member of the Journalists in Distress Network. It offers stipends, security and equipment support, (mental) health services, legal aid, relocation, and professional development through regional hubs.

Key Responsibilities

Act as the primary liaison between the headquarters, Fellows and implementation partners in Tunisia ensuring smooth communication, coordination, and timely flow of information.
Step in to fill gaps in cases where local partners are unable to provide support, ensuring that Fellows receive timely assistance
Oversee and support local partners in fulfilling their responsibilities, including secure communication with Fellows, programme delivery, documentation, and reporting.
Support monitoring and evaluation of project activities
Ensure compliance to administrative, security and financial processes in line with MiCT standards and templates.
Where required attend in-person events and meetings.
Support the Social Media Manager with timely updates on fellows’ activities, events, and other program highlights from the region.
Coordinate knowledge management for program aspects in collaboration with local partners and MiCT headquarters.
Contribute to regional planning and development by identifying challenges, opportunities, and areas for improvement in coordination with the local partners and headquarters.
Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum 3 years of experience in project management of emergency support projects across Northern Africa
Fluency in Arabic is required; working knowledge of English is essential
Thorough understanding of regional political and media contexts
Experience in individual case management, including psychological first aid
Experience communicating under stressful conditions
Familiarity with discourse around exile and crisis journalism, media freedom and critical, non-discriminatory development communication
Flexibility and teamwork
The position requires availability in Tunis, Tunisia for 3 months per half year implementation period
