The Opportunity
The Systems Accountant will play a central role in modernising and strengthening finance systems, processes and reporting. Working across Finance, Enterprise Systems, country offices and external suppliers, the role will translate finance needs into practical solutions that improve controls, reduce manual work, strengthen data quality and support better decision-making. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role for someone who understands finance, enjoys improving systems and processes, and can work confidently with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
The postholder will help shape the finance systems roadmap, manage agreed improvement priorities and support colleagues across Trócaire to make confident, consistent use of finance systems. The role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to finance transformation in an international NGO context, with exposure to global operations, country office realities and future-facing digital ways of working.

Requirements
Role Requirements
We are looking for a qualified or part-qualified accountant, or someone with equivalent experience in finance systems, reporting or finance operations. The successful candidate will bring a strong practical understanding of accounting processes, financial controls, reporting cycles and ERP/accounting systems, ideally Unit4. They will have experience working with finance users to understand requirements and translate them into practical systems, process or reporting solutions, along with strong Excel and data analysis skills. Experience supporting finance transformation, system implementation or upgrade projects is important, as is the ability to manage work, coordinate stakeholders and improve processes. We are looking for someone analytical, detail-focused and practical, who can communicate clearly with both finance and technical colleagues, support users through change, and work confidently across teams, countries and cultures.
