Position Summary:
The Partnerships and Community Support Manager will provide strategic leadership in building and strengthening CJTF's partnerships, community support infrastructure, and ecosystem engagement efforts. The role will drive initiatives that strengthen community leadership, support institutional resilience, and advance community-led just transition solutions.
The position will play a central role in developing partnerships with community organisations, social movements, civil society actors, funders, technical partners, and other stakeholders committed to climate justice and a just transition.
Working closely with community partners and grantees, the Manager will support the development of community-led just transition infrastructure, including the strengthening of existing and emerging Just Transition Centres as hubs for learning, organising, collaboration, innovation, and local action.
The role will also oversee community accompaniment processes, institutional capacity strengthening initiatives, advocacy and campaign support, leadership development opportunities, and ecosystem-building efforts that strengthen the resilience and effectiveness of community-led just transition initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
1. Partnerships and Ecosystem Building (30%)
Lead the development and stewardship of strategic partnerships that strengthen community-led climate justice and just transition efforts towards the support for and capacity development of Just Transition Centres.
Build and maintain relationships with community organisations, civil society partners, social movements, funders, academic institutions, and technical partners.
Identify opportunities for collaboration, collective action, learning, and resource mobilisation.
Strengthen CJTF's network of ecosystem partners and stakeholders.
Facilitate collaboration and knowledge-sharing across the just transition ecosystem.
Represent CJTF in relevant sector forums, coalitions, and partnership platforms.
2. Community Support and Capacity Strengthening (25%)
Lead initiatives that strengthen the effectiveness, resilience, and sustainability of community-led organisations and initiatives.
Design and oversee community accompaniment and support programmes.
Facilitate organisational capacity assessments and development plans.
Coordinate technical assistance, mentorship, peer-learning, and leadership development opportunities.
Support grantees and community partners to strengthen governance, strategy, organisational development, and resource mobilisation capabilities.
Develop tools and learning resources that support institutional strengthening and community leadership.
3. Just Transition Centres and Community Infrastructure Development (20%)
Support the development and strengthening of Just Transition Centres and community-based infrastructure that enables locally led action and movement-building in alignment with the CJTF’s strategic pillars.
Coordinate initiatives that strengthen Just Transition Centres.
Support centres as hubs for organising, learning, dialogue, experimentation, and community action.
Facilitate connections between centres and broader climate justice networks.
Strengthen systems that enable participation, collaboration, and community ownership.
Develop partnerships and resources that support the sustainability of community-led infrastructure.
4. Advocacy, Campaigns, and Community Mobilisation (15%)
Support community-led advocacy and collective action that advances climate and environmental justice and a people-centred just transition that centres sustainable development and wellbeing.
Collaborate with partners to support advocacy initiatives and campaigns.
Facilitate community engagement processes and participatory dialogue platforms.
Support communities to strengthen advocacy skills and policy engagement capacities.
Coordinate learning exchanges and movement-building activities.
Amplify community voices, experiences, and leadership within public discourse and sector engagements.
5. Strategic Leadership and Organisational Development (10%)
Contribute to CJTF's strategic growth, learning, and organisational effectiveness.
Contribute to organisational strategy and annual planning processes.
Support proposal development and resource mobilisation initiatives.
Monitor progress, capture learning, and contribute to impact reporting.
Provide strategic recommendations to strengthen community support approaches.
Champion CJTF's values of care, solidarity, equity, accountability, self-determination, and collective leadership.
Requirements
Relevant qualification in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Community Development, Public Policy, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
Minimum five years' experience in community development, partnership management, movement-building, philanthropy, organisational development, or climate justice work.
Experience working with grassroots organisations, community movements, or civil society initiatives.
A strong commitment to climate justice, social justice, and community-led development.
Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience supporting community organisations, civil society networks, or social movements.
Strong facilitation, communication, and partnership management abilities.
Experience in organisational development, capacity strengthening, or leadership development.
Understanding of advocacy, campaigning, movement-building, and systems change approaches.
Strategic thinking combined with a hands-on implementation mindset.
A collaborative, energetic, and solutions-oriented approach.
