Description

Raising Awareness of the Dangers of Irregular Migration II (RADIM II) is a migration-focused project implemented by Seefar. The project operates across four governorates in Federal Iraq including Baghdad, Basra, Dhi Qar, and Al-Muthanna. RADIM II aims to reduce irregular migration by strengthening awareness, providing targeted support to at-risk youth, and connecting individuals to viable local alternatives. Communications activities include digital campaigns, multimedia production, events and the development of locally relevant content designed to reach priority audiences.

To strengthen its in-country communications delivery, RADIM II is seeking a Media Liaison Officer to provide practical, field-based multimedia and event support across project activities.

Purpose of the role
The Media Liaison Officer will support the Strategic Communications team with multimedia production and delivery of project events, particularly where in-person coverage is required. The role will help address current gaps in photography and filming capacity and increase the amount of usable content captured directly from project activities. The duration of this consultancy is six (6) months, commencing on 1 October 2026 and ending on 31 March 2027

Key responsibilities
Provide professional photography and video coverage of RADIM II activities, including Tammuz activities, roundtables, workshops and other relevant field events.
Capture high-quality footage, interviews and supporting material that can supplement the content produced by the project’s Production Agency/partner and be used across project communications.
Provide multimedia, logistical and on-site support for project activities, working under the direction of the Strategic Communications (SC) Lead.
Provide practical event and multimedia support during activities, including preparing required materials, coordinating audiovisual requirements and supporting on-site delivery in the project’s operating locations (Baghdad, Dhi Qar, Muthanna, Basra, and Ninewa).
Support the documentation of other relevant Seefar activities in Iraq where appropriate and where this aligns with the role’s multimedia and events remit.
Organise, label and securely share raw and edited multimedia assets with the Comms team following each activity.
Provide editing of photography/video content where required.
Undertake other related multimedia, communications and event-support tasks as required by the project, in coordination with the SC Lead.
Reporting and coordination
The role will sit within the Strategic Communications function and will be managed by the Strategic Communications Lead.

Required profile
Demonstrated professional experience in photography and videography, particularly events, field activities or documentary-style content.
Experience supporting or coordinating events.
Ability to produce high-quality visual content in fast-moving field environments.
Demonstrated experience editing photo and video content for digital, social media or campaign use, including basic post-production and preparation of publication-ready assets.
Strong organisational and interpersonal skills and ability to coordinate with project teams, partners and participants.
Based in Iraq and able to travel to project locations as required.
Experience working with development organisations or international projects would be an advantage.
Expected outputs
Photo and video coverage of agreed RADIM II activities and events.
Additional footage/content to complement commissioned video production.
Multimedia and practical event support for events.
Organised delivery of usable raw and/or edited multimedia assets following activities.
Additional communications/event support as agreed with the SC Lead according to project needs.
