Through HASC, GEG has ongoing human resources and talent management requirements. The HR Coordinator - HASC will coordinate HR-related systems, processes, and functions for the HASC contract. This role reports to the GEG HR Lead and works closely with the GEG Director of Talent & Recruiting, Finance team, and Field Programs Directors.
Scope of Work
Position Description:
The HR Coordinator - HASC will coordinate day-to-day human resources support for the HASC contract, ensuring that HR processes, contracts, onboarding, benefits support, file management, compliance coordination, recruitment support, and staff inquiries are handled consistently, securely, and in alignment with GEG and contract requirements.
The HR Coordinator will:
Provide support to HR Lead for GEG HASC employees and consultants.
Update and refine standard operating procedures and workflows for various elements of HR functions, as needed.
Ensure that all employee agreements and consultant contracts under the HASC contract meet the requirements of GEG and GEG partners, including drafting contracts, managing their execution and storage, as well as any extensions or modifications.
Implement the performance and development strategy for the HASC team.
Responsible for the onboarding and orientation for all new GEG HASC employees and consultants.
Coordinate the HASC personnel inputs to the US benefit program working closely with the HR Lead, HR Coordinator GORS, and the GEG broker. Support the field HASC team with questions related to global benefits and liaise with the Field Administrators for any benefits provided to local employees.
Ensure GEG compliance with relevant labor laws and regulations.
Support the HR lead in the finalization of the GEG employee handbook.
Manage and service the HR email account, ensuring timely response to all messages/inquiries.
Own, consolidate, and manage file storage systems for safely and securely storing all HASC HR related information, with particular attention to safety, security and privacy of confidential documents and personal information.
Support and backstop as necessary the GEG Director of Talent & Recruiting in various elements of recruitment, including the posting of positions, the gathering of applications, and any other areas needing support.
Support GEG in meeting the highest levels of client satisfaction.
Remain accessible to the GEG team as a human resources specialist.
Coordinate with other HR team members as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
Required:
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience, master’s degree with relevant coursework and at least 1 year of relevant experience, or high school diploma with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
5 years’ proven experience in HR management within the humanitarian sector, USG or internationally.
A sound understanding of human resources’ best practices, policies and systems.
A good knowledge and application of contract employment.
Experience of staff onboarding.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent communications skills – written and verbal.
A commitment to humanitarian principles.
Proven ability to contribute to a strong team.
A demonstrated high level of personal responsibility, self-motivation and leadership ability.
Demonstrated professional aptitude that includes, but is not limited to, being responsible, disciplined, adaptable, accountable, client-focused and having a strong work ethic.

Desirable:
2 years + experience working at field level in humanitarian emergencies.
Previous experience working domestically in HR within the U.S.
Sound knowledge of US labor law.
Previous HR experience in Western or Eastern/Central Africa or South America region.
Spanish or French language proficiency.
