Description

About the role

The Democratic Progress Institute (DPI) is seeking an intern to join our Operations and Logistics Team and support our work on conflict resolution and peacebuilding. The intern will provide practical and administrative support to the team and gain first-hand experience of how an international conflict-resolution organisation plans and runs its programmes.

What you’ll do

The Operations Intern will support the smooth running of DPI’s day-to-day activities, contributing to operational, administrative, and project-related tasks. This internship role is hybrid, based in Greater London with some work-from-home flexibility. Responsibilities may include assisting with project coordination, maintaining databases and records, preparing meeting materials, supporting event logistics, and handling routine correspondence. The intern will collaborate with team members to improve operational processes, assist with basic research tasks related to ongoing projects, and help ensure timely delivery of activities and outputs. The role is designed to provide practical experience in operations within a non-governmental organization focused on conflict resolution and democratic development.

What we’re looking for

A university degree in any subject, or equivalent experience
Excellent written and spoken English
Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills
Confidence using a computer for online research, scanning and file management
The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team, and experience of working with a diverse range of people
Experience in Canva or photo editing software is highly desired.
What you’ll gain

Practical experience of how an international conflict-resolution organisation plans and delivers its programmes, and insight into the work behind them.

Availability

We would ideally like the intern to be available full time (Monday to Friday, 9.30 to 17.30), but part-time arrangements of 2–3 days per week are also welcome.

Right to work

Virtual internships have no visa requirements. If you plan to carry out the internship in the UK, we can only offer positions to candidates who already have the right to work in the UK.

All offers are conditional on satisfactory references and on signing our Code of Conduct and Safeguarding Policy, with a particular focus on Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse and Child Safeguarding.
