Job description

Reporting to the Head of Mission, the Air Liaison & Logistic Officer (ALLO) is part of the ground team and ensures constant communication between ground and air teams to support the Head of Mission (HoM) and Tactical Coordinator (TACCO) in decision-making processes. The role also includes managing ground supply chains, logistics, accommodation, transportation, and IT management.

Responsibilities:

Support air-ground/ground-air communication flow for informed decision-making

Assist HoM in liaising with authorities, SOS shore team, and other relevant actors

Draft flight reports

Develop and maintain SOPs for air-ground information flow and technical protocols

Capture, archive and upload audio content from ground base operations

Manage non-aeronautical logistics including accommodation, food, and local transportation

Act as focal point for AV, safety, monitoring and communication equipment

Regularly inventory IT, monitoring, safety and AV equipment

Ensure functionality of all technical communication equipment

Flight involvement: Ground-based.

Profile
Requirements:

2+ years in logistics, aviation support, or IT in humanitarian settings

Previous experience on board civil monitoring aircraft or SAR ships

Experience handling and troubleshooting communication systems (VHF, satellite)

Comfortable managing logistics, housing, and technical inventories in a remote base

Deep understanding of and commitment to humanitarian principles and civilian ethics

Strong interpersonal skills, stress management, and conflict resolution abilities

Ability to work in isolated settings, with small multicultural teams, under pressure

Capacity to follow and apply protocols in sensitive, politically charged environments

Fluent in English (spoken and written); French, Italian, or Arabic are strong assets

Certifications

Radio Operator Certificate, GMDSS or equivalent
