Job Summary

The candidate will report directly to the Country Lead and Head of Programmes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive communications and advocacy strategy that promotes IPF’s impact in Public Finance Management (PFM); drive and coordinate IPF’s advocacy communications, which include communicating complex concepts in compelling ways and building strategic relationships with various mainstream media outlets to enhance IPF’s visibility efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic communication and content development.

Coordinate the production, publication and dissemination of consistent, impactful, high-quality blogs, reports, infographics, and videos for web, social media, and print platforms.
Oversee digital presence including the website, and social media accounts.
Identify key advocacy opportunities and develop relevant content to promote IPF's policy recommendations and research findings on Public Finance Management (PFM).
Document IPF activities and milestones for internal and external purposes.
Produce quality written and visual materials, such as press releases, media reports, brochures, and infographics that communicate IPF's work.
Monitor and analyze media coverage and analytics on all IPF social platforms and provide regular updates.
Support in organizing IPF events.
Management of the Communications Advisor/Consultant

Support the hiring, onboarding, and orientation of the Communications Consultant/Advisor.
Co-develop the consultant's work plan with the Country Lead, including key milestones and deliverables.
Supervise day-to-day collaboration with the consultant and ensure alignment with the organization’s strategic priorities.
Review and provide feedback on consultant outputs (press releases, campaigns, policy communication tools, etc.).
Track performance against deliverables and ensure timely submission of outputs.
Facilitate periodic check-ins with the consultant.
Compile consultant reports and provide recommendations to management regarding contract renewal or adjustments.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in communications, Public Relations, Media Studies, Development Communication, or any related discipline.
At least 5 years of experience in communications and advocacy in the NGO sector.
An understanding of Public Finance Management (PFM) and experience in advocacy.
Experience in the use of computers and office software packages, and graphic design.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Experience with media relations, media monitoring, and social media management.
Experience in managing teams and , or consultants is an added advantage.
