Position Summary

Under the direct supervision of the support the Protection Officer - and the overall guidance of the Protection and Women and Girls Program Manager, The community mobilizer is responsible for identifying protection related risks and needs of the community in the areas where CARE is implementing its projects to ensure inclusion of vulnerable communities in all Care programs. The Community Mobilizer will deliver awareness messages in the community sessions. The Community Mobilizer will be directly involved in the day-to-day activities of the project, i.e participating in focus group discussions and communicating community concerns to relevant decision makers. The Community Mobilizer plays a crucial role in ensuring the protection and inclusion of vulnerable communities in CARE programs. This position requires a strong commitment to community engagement and a deep understanding of protection issues.

Key Responsibilities

1. Program planning and implementation:

Conduct outreach activities to identify protection-related risks and needs of the community. Through Conduct Women and Girls/Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Safety Audits in the targeted area to assess and identify VAWG risks .
Work closely with community leaders, local authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure the inclusion of vulnerable communities in CARE programs.
Deliver awareness messages in community sessions on a regular basis.
Support the implementation of community-based protection activities.
Monitor and evaluate the impact of community mobilization activities.
Provide ongoing support and guidance to community members on protection issues.
Work collaboratively with other CARE staff and partner organizations to ensure the effective implementation of protection programs
Build friendly relationships with the local community. Other tasks requested by the supervisor.
Coordination and networking:
Maintaining accurate records of all activities and reporting tools and submitting weekly/monthly/quarterly activity reports in a timely manner.
Collecting data periodically and updating individual files of program beneficiaries, as well as attendance sheets and progress towards targets on a regular basis.
Managing expenditures and providing reports to the line manager.
Participating in weekly meetings with the project team and attending ad hoc meetings as required.
Collaborating in the creation of a referral system to connect community members with needed support.
Identifying and suggesting women & girls -related topics for training sessions facilitated by the project team.
3. Reporting and information management:

Periodically collect data and regularly update individual files of the programmer beneficiaries, as well as attendance sheets and progress towards targets.
Keep proper records of expenditures and report on these to the line manager.
Conduct regular meetings with communities to jointly identify adolescents needs and develop adequate solutions jointly.
Participate in weekly meetings with the project team and other ad hoc meetings as requested.
Assist and promote the creation of a referral system when required, where each community member can find support and response to his/her own needs.
Identify & Propose gender-related topics for the eventual trainings lead by the project team
Capacity Building
Ensure understanding of and compliance to CARE PSEA and Child Safeguarding policies and reporting mechanisms.
Ensure affected populations are fully aware about CARE PSEA and CS policies and know how to report in a safe and confidential way
Required:

Bachelor's degree in social work, community development, or a related field
Minimum of 1 years of experience in community mobilization or related field
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people
Knowledge of protection issues and humanitarian principles
Fluency in local languages spoken in the community is desirable.
Language - Fluency in Arabic mandatory. English and Kurdish preferred.
