Job Purpose
The Electromechanics Engineer will "oversee the planning, technical implementation, and installation of mechanical and electric infrastructure for the rehabilitation activities, specifically focused on irrigation lines and agricultural warehouse facilities." The position requires "strong engineering expertise and proven experience in solar systems installation, and electric rehabilitation of water pumping stations in complex, resource-constrained settings.

Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee the planning, technical implementation, and installation of mechanical and electric infrastructure for the rehabilitation activities.
Oversee contractors’ performance and provide technical information and instructions.
Supervise technical assessments, design validation, BoQ development, and tender processes in collaboration with the procurement and logistics teams.
Conduct regular field visits to monitor progress, provide technical guidance, and resolve on-site challenges.
Ensure integration of conflict sensitivity, environmental sustainability, and Do-No-Harm principles throughout implementation.
Prepare progress reports, technical documentation, and updates for internal and external stakeholders.
Facilitate coordination with local authorities, technical departments, and community representatives for project approvals and stakeholder engagement.
Lead risk assessments and contingency planning related to engineering and construction activities.
Contribute to post-completion evaluations and sustainability planning.
Academic Qualifications, Requirements, and Skills
Academic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Electromechanical Engineering or a related field.
A master’s degree in a relevant field is highly preferred.
Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in electromechanical projects, with a focus on infrastructure rehabilitation.
Proven track record managing the design and implementation of solar systems and electric rehabilitation of water pumping stations.
Experience working with NGOs, UN agencies, or development programs in fragile or post-conflict contexts preferred.
Strong knowledge of construction safety standards, quality assurance protocols, and environmental compliance.
Excellent skills in project planning tools (e.g., MS Project, AutoCAD, Excel).
Fluency in Arabic; working knowledge of English is required.
Desirable Attributes:

Familiarity with humanitarian standards (Sphere, Core Humanitarian Standards)
Ability to work effectively under pressure and in remote or rural areas
Experience overseeing multiple contractors or engineering teams.
