As we expand our portfolio, we are currently seeking a Field Manager to support an upcoming assignment in Haiti by overseeing field operations and ensuring the successful implementation of data collection activities, with a focus on navigating local sensitivities, community engagement, and logistical challenges in Haitian contexts.
Position: Field Manager (Haiti-based)
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the planning, logistics, and execution of fieldwork activities in target locations within Haiti, ensuring compliance with local regulations and security protocols.
Supervise and support enumerator teams to ensure high-quality, ethical, and timely data collection, emphasizing cultural sensitivity and inclusivity in diverse Haitian communities.
Oversee participant mobilization in coordination with local stakeholders, including Haitian authorities, community leaders, and NGOs.
Conduct spot checks, field monitoring, and troubleshooting during data collection, adapting to potential disruptions in areas affected by humanitarian challenges in Haiti.
Ensure accurate reporting of field progress to the STOOS central coordination team, incorporating insights on local dynamics to inform research analysis and reporting.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Social Sciences, Public Health, Development Studies, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years’ proven experience managing fieldwork in research, surveys, or M&E assignments, preferably in the Caribbean or humanitarian contexts like Haiti.
Previous experience supervising enumerator teams in multi-site or complex contexts, with an understanding of humanitarian access and ethical considerations in Haitian settings.
Excellent command of English, both spoken and written, with the ability to communicate with international research teams and draft basic field reports; fluency in French and Haitian Creole is essential for local coordination and community engagement.
Strong familiarity with digital data collection tools (e.g., KoboToolbox, ODK, SurveyCTO), and experience integrating them into research workflows for data analysis and reporting.
Ability to manage field teams under tight timelines and adapt to changing field dynamics, including security risks and logistical challenges common in Haiti.
