The Role
We are looking for a Finance Coordinator to join our team in Ukraine. The Finance Coordinator will provide senior level coordination to the day-to-day financial operations and processes to ensure completion of award accounting in line with donor regulations within GRC’s Ukraine office. In collaboration with the CFO and International Finance Manager the role will have input into the development of budgets for grants, funds, various programmes, donors, and departments ensuring adherence to GRC’s policies and donor requirements.
Responsibilities
Provide coordination for the day to day work within the Ukraine finance team.
Support the Senior Finance Officers to ensure daily and month end processes and completed and finalised efficiently.
Act as a point of escalation as needed.
Provide training to Admin staff on correct financial procedures.
Coordinate and ensure correct processing of expense reimbursement forms for the Ukraine office.
Prepare/supervise the monthly budget to actual financial reports for the Ukraine portfolio.
Coordinate month-end and year-end-closeouts for the Ukraine office.
Provide senior oversight and analysis of budgets, expenditures (including procurement), accruals, pipelines, cost projections, and allocations on a monthly basis.
Support proposal budget preparation, working with program business development teams.
Oversee to ensure effective completion of daily / monthly expenses and invoices into internal spreadsheets, checking entries of other team members as necessary.
Troubleshoot accounting problems; identify issues and find solutions.
Ensure adherence to GRC’s finance policies, procedures, and donor requirements.
Coordinate audit preparation paperwork including spot audits.
Assist on international projects' payments and budgets, when needed.
Assist in preparation of financial documentation during the month end process when needed.
Your Background
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration preferred.
4.5+ years of accounting experience with an emphasis on reconciliation and financial reporting required preferably in the non-profit or international development environment. FCDO grants finance experience as an asset.
Experience with US funded projects is considered a plus.
Experience with enterprise-level non-profit accounting software preferably QuickBooks.
General knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Proven experience & ability to gather financial data and accurately create excel spreadsheets and financial reports.
Confident in financial management and accounting spreadsheet and word processing programs.
Experience supporting others and coordinating a small team.
Detail oriented, well organised, able to handle multi tasks in a busy and uncertain environment.
Demonstrate thoroughness with detailed work regardless of quantity or variety of data.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to foresee issues and mitigate as needed.
Fluent in Ukrainian and advanced English proficiency is required.
