Description

INTRAC is seeking a talented and mission-driven Finance and Operations Director to join our Senior Management Team. You will have a passion for operations and have highly developed finance skills, with a background in the social enterprise or not-for-profit sector.

Main responsibilities

Director responsibilities
Strategic leadership of Finance and Operations for INTRAC, including active contribution to organisational discussions and strategic decision-making at senior management and Board level, contributing from a finance and operations perspective,
Attend Board meetings, ensuring Finance and Risk meetings and decisions are suitably recorded, and follow up, including taking responsibility for statutory reporting and compliance with charity and company requirements

Financial leadership

Line management the ‘Finance Coordinator and Project Accountant’ providing oversight, direction and advice on financial processes and practices and ensuring compliance with statutory obligations and core deliverables including:
monthly management accounts and non-financial performance metrics
Forecasts and cash flow analysis
VAT returns
Bank reconciliations and journals processing
Payroll based on timesheets and the pensions’ scheme
Monitoring reserves

Experience
Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) (E)
Demonstrable senior level management experience in areas of financial and operations management, organisational development, operational planning and line management
Substantial financial management experience including contract and grant based project and programme budgeting and accounting in an international development environment or social enterprise context
Sound understanding of accounting and financial management in the context of the UK charity sector and the wider international not-for-profit sector
Experience of management of organisational systems, resources, and policy including information management and databases, HR and overall guidance of technical infrastructure development such as IT
Experience of working with boards
Expertise in Health and Safety at work and knowledge of how to apply legislative requirements in a remote working contexts
