What we are looking for
Our diverse and dedicated team is currently seeking someone to join us in managing our Free Shop that is offering hygiene supplies. The ideal candidate will bring experience in overseeing and maintaining free shops, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. Beyond just operational skills, we're looking for someone who is eager to work within a collaborative environment that values solidarity and community-building
Key responsibilities
The Free Shop Officer will be expected to carry out the following tasks:
Organizing and Managing Supplies: Oversee the Free Shop's smooth running by managing inventory and organizing supplies. A valid driving license and comfort with driving are preferred to support procurement and logistical operations.
Fundraising and Partnership Development: Write proposals, connect with existing partners, and cultivate new partnerships to sustain and grow the Free Shop.
Shift Management: While taking shifts yourself, you will be supported by an amazing team. You will ensure shifts are filled efficiently, maintaining the Free Shop’s operations.
General Operations: Ensure all aspects of the Free Shop are running responsibly and in line with Habibi.Works' mission and values.
Escalation and Problem-Solving: Be proactive in addressing operational challenges and manage any issues within the Free Shop in a supportive and organized manner.
Hiring criteria
Active Participation in Habibi.Works: As part of the team, you will actively engage in the Habibi.Works space, take shifts in different workingareas beside the FreeShop, participating in discussions and meetings, and contributing to the overall direction of the project. You’ll take ownership of your role and collaborate in a flat-hierarchy, community-driven environment.
Able to work independently but thrives in a team setting, with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility.
Comfortable taking part in discussions, offering ideas, and participating in decision-making processes within a non-hierarchical, collaborative environment.
Experience in managing or organizing community spaces, such as free shops or distribution systems, is ideal.
Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and capable of staying organized and calm under pressure.
A valid driver’s license and ability to drive for procurement and logistics.
Strong communication skills, with an emphasis on empathy and inclusivity
A commitment of at least 12 months
