Protect Humanitarians is looking for a skilled fundraiser with talent for establishing donor relationships and producing compelling, well-crafted reports. If you thrive in a fast-paced, international environment, this could be your next mission.

Key Responsibilities

Under the leadership of the Director and with support of the Program team, the Fundraising and Grants Officer will lead key activities in the following areas:

Fundraising and donor engagement

Proactively research and identify funding opportunities from institutional, philanthropic, and private donors.
Draft and submit compelling concept notes, grant applications, and partnership proposals.
Lead the development of all required annexes (budget, workplan, and all necessary donor requirements)
Support the development of a private fundraising strategy, and related marketing materials (e.g., donor decks, one-pagers, case for support) in coordination with the Communications Officer.
Expand Protect Humanitarians’ donor database and propose innovative approaches for individual donor acquisition and retention.
Plan and coordinate fundraising campaigns and events.
Grants management and compliance

Ensure timely submission of high-quality donor reports, adhering to all donor requirements and guidelines.
Track donor-related deadlines and coordinate internal planning to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
Lead monthly review and Budget vs. Actual (BvA) meetings to assess project progress, address challenges, and propose necessary adjustments.
Provide administrative support related to grants (e.g., Go/No-Go memos, kick off meetings, roles clarification, grant review meeting minutes etc.).
Ensure full compliance with grant conditions and donor-specific regulations.
Collaborate with staff and partners to collect compelling data, success stories, and impact narratives.
Leadership and administrative support

When requested by the Executive Director:

Prepare and edit correspondence, reports, presentations.
Organize meetings, appointments and travel arrangements.
Support General Assembly organization and engagement with Protect Humanitarians board members.
Responsibilities and tasks may change according to need.

Essential requirements
Master’s Degree in Humanitarian Aid, International Development or a relevant field.
Experience in fundraising, proposal writing and/or grant management.
Excellent organizational skills and comfort with multi-tasking.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex activities and meet deadlines.
Perfect writing, editing, and presentation skills in English and French.
Ability to translate achievements into compelling donor language.
Independent but able to work with multiple team members and partners in a coordinated one-team approach.
Detail oriented and able to review work for accuracy.
Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel and Outlook, Sharepoint, One Drive.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and French. Dutch or Ukrainian is an advantage.
