Position Summary
The Graphic Designer plays a pivotal role in strengthening ForAfrika’s brand through high-quality
visual communication. The position is responsible for translating complex programme data and
technical content into visually impactful designs, infographics, and digital products that enhance
understanding, donor engagement, and public visibility. The Graphic Designer will support a wide
range of organisational needs, from campaigns and fundraising to internal communications and
website editing and maintenance, always ensuring alignment with ForAfrika’s brand standards.

The ideal candidate is a purpose-driven creative who brings a deep love for Africa and a strong
awareness of the humanitarian and development context across the continent. Guided by
compassion and discipline, they are accountable, responsive, and able to manage multiple design
projects under tight deadlines. With a sharp eye for inclusive design and detail, they use Adobe
Creative Suite to transform complex information into clear, compelling visuals that reflect ForAfrika’s
brand and mission. They demonstrate initiative through creative problem-solving, stay current with
design trends, and collaborate effectively across teams to ensure visual content is strategically
aligned and engaging. Dependable and adaptable, they thrive in a fast-paced environment,
producing impactful communications that inspire action and foster stakeholder trust.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
1. Branding and Creative Development
• Ensure brand compliance across all visual materials by applying ForAfrika’s brand guidelines
consistently.
• Support the development of creative visual concepts for key campaigns, strategic
communications, and organisational initiatives.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand design needs and advise on best
practices to represent the brand effectively
2. Graphic Design and Data Visualisation
• Design tools and materials that communicate technical or complex programme information
(e.g. M&E data, sector-specific content) in a clear, engaging, and accessible way.
• Develop infographics, diagrams, and visual storytelling assets that bring data and
programme results to life for donors and general audiences.
• Create print and digital materials, including reports, brochures, flyers, social media graphics,
presentations, and branded templates.
• Support various teams with high-quality visuals for proposals, fundraising campaigns, and
internal initiatives.
3. Website Content and Visual Updates
• Maintain and update ForAfrika.org and affiliated websites to ensure a cohesive and userfriendly digital presence.
• Support the rollout of additional websites aligned with the organisation’s strategic growth.
• Develop and implement search engine optimisation strategies to improve visibility, increase
traffic, and drive engagement with ForAfrika's websites.
• Continuously research and evaluate emerging technologies and digital tools to ensure
ForAfrika is utilising the most effective and efficient web and fundraising platforms.
4. Admin, Reporting and Digital Analytics
• Provide basic reporting using tools like Google Analytics and Google Ads to track campaign
or content performance.
• Maintain organised design files, templates, and image libraries for internal use.
• Support visual consistency across country offices and departments.
Education and Certification:
• Completion of secondary education is required
• Bachelor's degree in graphic design, art direction, visual communication, or a related field is
an asset.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in graphic designing
• Proven proficiency in WordPress and professional design software, including Adobe
Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.
• Demonstrated experience in data visualization and transforming complex information into
compelling, accessible visual content.
• Track record of conceptualizing and developing diverse design products, including
infographics, reports, social media assets, and logos.
• Familiarity with coordinating print production processes, including preparation of print-ready
files and liaison with printing vendors.
• Previous work experience with NGO’s or international organisations is an asset.
• Knowledge of and sensitivity to humanitarian and development sectors is highly desirable.
• Basic video editing in Adobe Premiere Pro and simple animation or motion graphics skills
(e.g. in After Effects) would be a strong advantage, enabling the creation of short, engaging
multimedia content for digital platforms.
