About this Project

Kyiv Media Hub seeks to provide a sanctuary for journalists, offering not only a secure working environment but also aims to foster collaboration, innovation, and peer support among media professionals. Through workshops, training sessions, and networking events, the Hub will enhance journalists' skills, encourage the production of quality content, and support the emergence of a new generation of media talent. Moreover, the Hub will serve as a venue for critical discourse, connecting Ukrainian journalists with their global counterparts and the international community as well as civil society.

For this project, we are looking for a Hub / Community Manager based in Kyiv to run this project, develop further activities and be our first point of contact within Ukraine for all projects.

Position: Community / Hub Manager Ukraine

Responsibilities include:

Operational Leadership: Ensure smooth daily operations, manage events like workshops and networking gatherings, and maintain the Hub’s safety and infrastructure.
Community Building: Foster a vibrant community of journalists through active engagement, support collaboration, and develop initiatives for professional growth.
Strategic Partnerships: Develop relationships with local and international media entities as well as embassies and international civil society organizations.
Program Development and Evaluation: Design, implement, and regularly assess the hub’s offerings for journalists and and match it with the needs of the journalistic community
Representation and Reporting: Act as the primary contact for MiCT within Ukraine, overseeing communications and providing regular updates on the Hub’s progress and needs.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in project or program management, preferably in the media development or human rights sector.
Knowledge of the media landscapes in Ukraine, with an understanding of the challenges faced by media makers in Ukraine
Strong networking and partnership-building skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders, including international actors
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with fluency in English and Ukrainian
Passionate about media freedom, human rights, and empowering independent voices.
