The Centre for Civil and Political Rights (CCPR) is currently recruiting a “Human Rights Officer Asia Pacific” as below
Responsibilities: The main responsibility of the position is to assist the CCPR’s Regional Coordinator Asia-Pacific in the implementation of Centre’s projects in in the region, including:
Research, data collection and report writing on the situation of civil and political rights in project target countries and/or specific thematic issues;
Documentation and reporting of activities including note taking during meetings;
Development, maintenance and updating of advocacy tools for monitoring implementation of ICCPR and/or Human Rights Committee’s recommendations;
Facilitation of the civil society engagement and utilisation of the the UN Human Rights System (e.g. UN Treaty Bodies and UN Human Rights Council);
Communication and coordination with project partners;
Relevant administrative and financial work; and
Other duties as assigned by the Regional Coordinator Asia Pacific.
A Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields, preferably in human rights / international human rights law and at least 3 years of professional work experience in the field of human rights / international human rights law;
Profound knowledge of international human rights law, in particular the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR);
Fluency in oral and written English;
Being based in a country in South East Asia.
