Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop PRC advocacy strategy and eventual legislation of the policy into/law into force
- Monitor and update the status of PRC related bills pending for legislation, PRC Policies for enactment/ enforcement with other stakeholders/ agencies
- Monitor and update the status of IHL related treaties pending for ratification or accession by the Philippine Government
- Coordinate with the appropriate committees of the Senate and House of the Representative as to the status of the Red Cross Bill.
- Network with the concerned government and non-government organizations to gain support for the Red Cross related policy or Bill
- Organized and attend meetings with congressional legislative officers, government agencies, NGO’s and other interlocutors
- Define a normal statutory position for the PRC (and possibly the Movement) on the advocacy issues
- Conceptualize and design lobby advocacy materials for reproduction
- Systematically plan and improve the capacity of PRC staff and volunteers in humanitarian diplomacy
- Responsible for organizing disaster law trainings primarily at the Chapter level in coordination with PRC offices, IFRC technical team and other Partners in the country
- Support movement-wide capacity building initiatives on humanitarian advocacy
- Mainstream disaster law as core expertise and/or advocacy of national society
- Act As focal person and ensure all the relevant technical services will be engaged and consulted on the advocacy issues
- Develop and deliver context specific humanitarian research and analysis, including briefings and reports
- Coordinate with other PNS present in the country for project specific advocacy matters
- Assist formulation of plans and budget for the implementation of IHL relative activities
- Prepare operational budget for field missions, chapter visit and related activities
- Submit activity reports, monthly, quarterly, and year end to be submitted to NHQ
- Prepare advocacy materials to be distributed to PRC chapters and requesting agencies
- Make recommendations to improve program implementation in area of responsibility
Job specifications
- Bachelors Degree in Social Sciences or any related degree
- Preferably with 1 year experience
- Willing to work in Mandaluyong City
