About the Internship Position

Trust offers internship positions as Junior Officers (JOs) in either the Proposal Writing (PW) department or the Third-Party Monitoring & Evaluation (TPM) department. Candidates should clearly indicate which track they are applying for.

4–6 months, remote, full-time (40 hours/week)
Unpaid internship
Exposure to different phases of proposals or M&E projects depending on the selected track
If travel is required, Trust will cover related logistics expenses
By the end of the internship, the intern is expected to be able to:

Proposal Writing Track:

Analyze tenders and Terms of Reference (ToRs) professionally
Write strong technical proposals
Enhance communication and networking skills
TPM & Evaluation Track:

Clearly identify and explain all key phases of a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) project.
Conduct structured desk reviews and literature reviews using relevant and credible sources.
Design appropriate data-collection tools for qualitative and quantitative research (e.g. interview guides, questionnaires, FGDs).
Analyse qualitative and quantitative data using appropriate analytical methods and tools.
Draft clear, structured, and evidence-based M&E reports
Proposal Writing Track:

Scoping new opportunities and searching for ToRs and tenders
Analyzing ToRs and tenders
Communicating with external partners and consultants
Identifying external consultants and partners
Supporting the proposal writing team in research, coordination and writing proposals
Other tasks, as needed and assigned by the supervisor
TPM & Evaluation Track:

Conducting literature and desk review
Drafting Inception reports
Designing tools for data collection
Conducting quantitative and qualitative data analysis
Support in report writing
Remote data collection e.g conducting remote KIIs, taking notes
Data/report visualization
Other tasks (media, digital marketing, webinars, training materials, etc.)

Candidate profile & qualifications

University Degree in Development, Public Health, Social Sciences or other relevant subjects required, MA preferred
At least one year of professional experience in a related field within humanitarian/development and research
Fluent/native English speaker
Strong, demonstrable understanding of research and research methods, both qualitative and quantitative
Good analytical skills
Very strong Office package skills, including Excel skills
Strong writing and editing skills
Demonstrate a profound understanding of development/ humanitarian sector
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal/communication skills and able to work in a multi-cultural work environment
Able to work independently under remote supervision
Preferred Skills:

Knowledge of Arabic, Kurdish or Turkish highly desirable
Experience living or working in a low- or middle-income country, preferably in the MENA region.
Previous experience in monitoring and evaluation of development or humanitarian aid
Previous experience in proposal writing or project management
Experience with remote management and working with a multicultural team
