JOB OVERVIEW:
We are looking for an experienced line pilot to work in a challenging and remote area. This role will require the incumbent to perform pre- and post-flight planning, pre- and post-flight inspections, fuel management, equipment and navigational systems management, and operate our aircraft safely at all times, while operating as a bush pilot.
A 2-year contract would be offered to the suitable candidate, with a 6-month probation period. Salary would be commensurate with experience as experience and hours progress.
MAIN ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safely carry out all flights needed as required by the operations of the project
Take responsibility for the safety and operations of all aerial and ground operations
Manage fuel stocks and refueling, aircraft support, helipads, runways and hangars.
Assist with any work that needs to be done on AP aircraft.
Help with servicing and maintenance, as well as continued airworthiness of the aircraft, respect the maintenance schedule and assist appointed maintenance engineers on site, within the legal prescripts
Duties to include the daily refueling, cleaning and continued care as well as management of equipment or parts and stock control
Maintain flight folio/logbook, spreadsheets and online Operations management system admin up to date
Be available as a relief pilot on other aircraft as required to serve the regional aerial support function.
When the pilot is not flying, he/she is expected to support the projects regular operations (such as but not limited to, support in logistics, administration, IT, training of staff, sourcing of materials, etc.).
Carry out any other relevant tasks that may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor
Be prepared to obtain an FAA validation
Be prepared to do a Rotax line maintenance engine course

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required licenses issued by the applicable Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA)
Ratings on C206, C182 and Savannah aircraft required.
FAA fixed wing licence would be an advantage.
Valid Class 1 medical certificate;
A minimum of 700 hours PIC flight time
Rotax engine experience / mechanical aptitude would be a benefit.
Experience in bush flying would be an asset
Willing to be based in a remote area with minimal infrastructure and support
Excellent organizational, analytical, oral and written communications skills in English;
Strong initiative, perseverance, and resilience;
Strong personal integrity and dependability
Good team player with experience working with multicultural teams.
Knowledge and passion for conservation and wildlife is essential
