Finn Church Aid (FCA) is seeking a Programme Advisor to lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of projects at the Network for Religious and Traditional Peacemakers (NRTP) in Africa, including the Horn of Africa Traditional and Faith-Oriented Insider Mediators (TFIM) Platform. In addition, the Programme Advisor will be responsible for leading the planning, implementation, and monitoring of the global iDove project.

The position is contracted from our head office in Helsinki, Finland, and requires regular travel, including occasional periods of work in the programme countries.

Remote working may also be possible from Nairobi, Kampala, Addis Ababa, or another mutually agreed location, subject to operational and legal requirements.

This is not an expatriate position. The successful candidate will be employed under the applicable employment framework depending on their location. For candidates working remotely from outside Finland, employment arrangements may be facilitated through an Employer of Record (EOR), where required, in accordance with local legal requirements.

Key tasks and responsibilities

Plan and implement NRTP Africa regional strategy and annual plan, projects, and programmes in Africa inclusive of all stages of the programme cycle.
Plan and implement the MFA PBS project activities for Africa (HoA TFIM Platform) region including donor coordination, M&E, and reporting.
Lead the planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the iDove global project, including donor and partnership engagement and coordination.
Facilitate engagement of NRTP members, partners, and supporters in the Africa region, including regular sharing of information through newsletters and organizing quarterly online meetings.
Support NRTP fundraising through proposal development, donor engagement, and development of new partnerships.
Provide advisory and thematic expertise and support on peacebuilding and peace mediation for FCA country offices and other relevant stakeholders where needed.
Support global NRTP activities such as the annual Advisory Group Meeting (AGM), UN engagement, donor reporting, etc.
Skills and Experience

A relevant postgraduate university degree in fields such as peace and conflict studies, international relations, development studies, human rights, or another related area.
At least five years of relevant professional experience in the peacebuilding and/or development sector.
Strong thematic expertise in peacebuilding and conflict transformation.
Regional expertise and experience of working with/in countries of Sub-Saharan Africa, especially Horn of Africa/East Africa, Mozambique, Central African Republic and Sahel region.
Experience in programme and project planning, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), and reporting.
Experience in developing funding proposals, preparing budgets, and financial reporting.
Excellent analytical thinking and professional writing skills.
Fluency in written and spoken English. Working knowledge of French, Kiswahili, and/or Arabic is considered an asset.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience working in multicultural environments.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to proactively manage and coordinate work.
