PROJECT OFFICER – BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Dorcas Aid International is a Christian Relief and Development Organization working in areas of WASH, child protection, entrepreneurship and climate change. Dorcas is urgently recruiting for a position of a Project Officer – Business Development for Moyale Cross-border Community Development Project. The position is for a contract period of 6 months and will be based in Moyale - Kenya.
Position Description: This position requires a motivated professional person with a business background and proven skills to work with grassroot upcoming value chains and cooperatives. The person must demonstrate that he or she has acquired hands-on experience of running value chains and capacity to include marginalized groups, particularly women, youth and people with disabilities.
Provide technical support in implementing a camel milk inclusive value chain that combine market-based approaches to create decent employment and diversification of income streams for target households in Moyale Sub County. He or she must be able to promote and integrate climate resilient actions in the camel milk value chain in order to mitigate and adapt to effects of climate change.
Support cooperative development to enhance their overall management skills, aggregation capacity and marketing systems.
Seek and develop linkages and synergies with other existing and potential value chain actors
Capture learnings and emerging lessons to facilitate scale up and adaptive programming.
Actively network and create sustainable relations with other agribusiness actors
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and/or entrepreneurship with a minimum experience of 3 years in managing value chains.
