Description
Job Purpose:
Responsible for delivering high-quality, culturally appropriate Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) interventions, and for following up with caregivers of children at risk of protection concerns. The role aims to enhance psychosocial recovery, support adaptation to life, and reduce the negative impacts of stress and trauma.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide individual or group psychosocial support sessions for caregivers, with daily follow-up to ensure recovery from psychological distress and improved adaptation.
Conduct immediate referrals of protection-related risks to the Protection and Health teams within the project (AHF).
Strengthen psychological well-being and reduce post-traumatic stress symptoms resulting from separation from children or family members.
Organize and implement awareness-raising activities and educational sessions on mental health and psychosocial support.
Collect and accurately document daily activity data, ensuring proper completion of all relevant forms.
Participate in planning meetings and weekly reporting, ensuring adherence to quality standards for psychosocial support services.
Coordinate with protection teams and other services to ensure a comprehensive and integrated response to beneficiaries.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
University degree in Psychology or a related field.
Minimum of five years of experience in psychosocial support and mental health.
Good knowledge of protection principles, mental health, and domestic violence risks.
Practical experience in conducting individual and group psychosocial support sessions.
Strong listening, effective communication, and ability to work with vulnerable groups.
Ability to manage stressful situations and work within a multidisciplinary team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data collection systems.
