Description
GRC is currently seeking a Regional Project Coordinator (m/f/d) to coordinate a DG ECHO-funded multi-country programmatic partnership project. The project with the Host National Red Cross Societies focusses on Health, Protection and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) activities.
Based in Bogotá, the Regional Project Coordinator will be part of the experienced team of international delegates and national staff under the line management of the Head of Office for Colombia and Venezuela. The position requires regular field visits in the region.
Starting date: asap, ideally September 2025
Duration: 12 months (with possible extension)
Location: Bogota (Colombia)
Main duties & responsibilities:
Leading coordination of the entire programme within the framework of the programmatic partnership, including planning, quality and compliance assurance, monitoring, reporting and visibility and communication.
Coordination and technical exchange with the involved National Red Cross Societies within the framework of the agreed steering mechanism, including coordination and preparation of meetings
Ensure continuous and consistent financial and activity monitoring jointly with the respective country project managers
Preparation and consolidation of individual project information for all internal and external reports in close cooperation with country and technical officers
Effective and efficient information management and quality assurance for compliance with donor regulations and the GRC guidelines and procedures
Coordination and professional exchange with donor (ECHO), the program consortium, other RCRC Movement partners and stakeholders and other aid organisations to ensure best possible creation and usage of synergies
Provide appropriate mentorship, capacity strengthening and facilitate technical support to staff and teams across the project management cycle.
Required Competencies & Skills:
University degree or advanced degree in a relevant field.
At least five years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing humanitarian programmes and activities, preferably with a focus on Health and Protection.
Strong programme management skills, including planning, reporting, finance management, monitoring, and evaluation.
Profound technical background in at least one of the following areas: Health, Protection, Migration, DRR, Finance & Logistics is an asset.
Experience in managing donor-funded projects, particularly ECHO.
Proven experience working with the Red Cross / Red Crescent Movement and Experience and proven ability to work hand in hand together with national or local partner organisations. Experience in facilitating organisational development processes is a strong asset.
Oral and written fluency in Spanish and English is a requirement; knowledge of German would be an asset.
Experience in the Americas region will be considered a strong asset.
Excellent communication skills, the ability to build and maintain partnerships at all levels, considering cultural and language differences.
Strategic thinking, hands-on mentality and in-depth understanding of the humanitarian system.
Proven leadership and problem-solving skills as well as intercultural sensitivity, diplomacy and facilitation skills.
Ability and agreement to adhere to the Red Cross Red Crescent Fundamental Principles.
Ability to complete a thorough medical screening process 'working abroad under specific climate and health conditions'.
Valid International Driving Permit (IDP).
