Summary: The Regional Strategic Partnerships Officer develops and advances locally grounded institutional partnerships that expand resources for CVT programs in East Africa and the Middle East. Working through designated regional focal points and in close coordination with program, clinical, finance, research, communications, and leadership colleagues, the Officer identifies and cultivates prospective partners; facilitates locally led outreach; and helps translate regional priorities into compelling partnership opportunities, concept notes, proposals, and stewardship plans. role connects regional knowledge and relationships with CVT-wide strategy, systems, and standards while strengthening the capacity of focal points to sustain productive partnerships over time.
Job Responsibilities:
35%- Regional Partnership Development, Solicitation, and Active Prospecting
Build and manage a qualified pipeline of local and regional institutional partners, including foundations, corporations, civic and faith-based organizations, embassies, bilateral and multilateral donors, and other entities aligned with CVT’s mission and program
Develop tailored engagement and solicitation strategies for priority prospects, including letters of inquiry, briefings, meetings, site visits, concept notes, and funding requests
Represent CVT in external meetings and relevant regional networks, and equip regional CVT colleagues and leaders with concise talking points and materials for partner engagement
Monitor the local funding environment and emerging trends, and recommended partnership opportunities that align with regional priorities and organizational capacity
35% Opportunity Development and Proposal Collaboration
Assess prospective opportunities for strategic fit, relationship readiness, competitiveness, program relevance, resource requirements in collaboration with program, evaluation and research, and finance colleagues
Lead or support development of partnership briefs, concept notes, proposals, budgets, presentations, and supporting materials
Coordinate inputs, timelines, reviews, approvals, and submission requirements for assigned opportunities
Support the design of partnership models that may include grant funding, contracts, sponsorships, in-kind support, technical collaboration, and referral relationships
20% Stewardship, Learning, and Systems:
Maintain timely and accurate prospect, partner, meeting, and action records in CVT’s CRM system or other designated systems
Coordinate follow-up, recognition, reporting, and renewal planning with program and partnerships
Track relationship progress and pipeline movement, synthesize lessons across regions, and recommended adjustments to outreach, positioning, and partnership strategy Promote ethical, survivor-centered, partnership practices including the appropriate handling of confidential information
Ensure compliance with donor requirements, grant regulations, and internal approval processes throughout the partnership lifecycle, including reporting deadlines, acknowledgment and recognition requirements, and audit-ready recordkeeping.
10% Other Duties:
Participate in other department and organization-wide activities, meetings and trainings. Complete administrative responsibilities. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required education, experience, certificates, licenses or registrations
Bachelor’s degree in international development, business administration, nonprofit management or equivalent experience required
Minimum 3 years of progressively responsible experience in institutional fundraising, grant writing, and proposal/business development
Demonstrated success securing funding from institutional donors, including foundations, government agencies, and/or multilateral funders
Experience facilitating cross-departmental teams and managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects
Experience working with local partners and regional focal points
Strong writing, editing, and strategic thinking skills
Ability to travel domestically and internationally and participate in meetings across time zones, as needed
Fluency in English, Arabic, and other languages of the region, as needed
Preferred education, experience, certificates, licenses or registrations
Master’s degree in international development, business administration, nonprofit management or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience leading or mentoring fundraising staff in a team-based environment
Familiarity with U.S., European, and multilateral funders, international NGOs, human rights organizations, and trauma-informed service organizations
Experience with pooled, thematic, or general operating funding strategies
Knowledge of local and regional donor landscapes in one or more of the following contexts in East Africa and the Middle East
