We are looking for a Senior Finance and Administration Officer who will be responsible for the finance and administration management in the Transform Trade Africa region.
This position requires the candidate to have a strong understanding of the Government of Tanzania's policies, regulations, and administrative procedures. As the Regional Office is based in Tanzania, this knowledge is essential for effectively managing administrative responsibilities, particularly engagement with the Registrar of NGOs and other statutory compliance requirements.

Role:
Senior Finance and Administration Officer
Responsible for Finance and administration management in the Transform Trade Africa region
Location: Regional office in Dar es salaam with travel to regional projects areas
Purpose: Responsible for the efficient and effective financial management and administration issues of Transform Trade work across the Africa region.
Accountabilities: This position will:
Report to the Regional Director for Africa, while working closely with the global Head of Finance & Administration, and other finance and operations colleagues in the UK and other regions of Transform Trade.
Ensure organizational resources are safeguarded from loss, misuse and/or fraud.
Responsibilities
Perform regional financial management tasks (preparation and processing accounting transactions, preparing financial statements, preparing monthly cashbooks and bank reconciliation, payroll processing, ensuring positive cash flow, processing funds requests, and ensuring proper filling of all documents, among others.)
Undertake regional budget management and support program team in compiling, monitoring and tracking budgets
Provide administrative support to regional work, including programs, grants and partnership teams on procurement, logistical support for Transform Trade staff and project activities as required.
Ensure compliance with Transform Trade policies, government statutory requirements and donor requirements.
Ensure sufficient internal financial controls and policies are regularly reviewed.
Support the Regional Director in risk management including updating the risk register
Oversee the statutory and project financial audits and implement the audit findings
Undertake verification exercises of financial transactions as indicated in the financial policy or/and per directives
Manage and supervise the finance & operations assistant and any finance and administration consultants
Coach and train field staff and partners on the organization’s policies, financial management and safeguarding issues with support from the Central Operations team.
Ensure the regional office is well-managed and organized, including the leases, assets and insurance.
As a member of the global finance & operations team, provide backstopping support to the Head of Finance & Administration.
You will have:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or other relevant area
Professional Accounting qualification - registered with the National Board of Accountancy and Auditors (NBAA) or its equivalent
Experience in managing the finances of development organizations, especially those receiving funds from different donors internationally.
Must have at least five years of working experience preparing organizational financial statements and donor reports.
Strong bookkeeping and financial management experience.
Experience using different accounting systems; expertise in SAGE 200 is preferable
Experience in managing finance staff.
Experience in managing and building relationships with partners and associates.
Familiarity with taxation and compliance rules of the Tanzanian and Kenyan Government.
Honesty and integrity.
Hours/Week:40 working hours per week
Scale: Tanzania Scale 4
Salary: Basic pay of TZS 4,800,000/= per month (TZS 57,600,000/= annually)
