Description

Our Uganda program, founded in 2016, serves approximately 27,000 farmers. We offer bespoke training to coffee farmers to help them improve their yields, and distribute a range of different tree species through local nurseries situated close to farmers. Our team in Uganda is headquartered in Jinja, close to the districts we serve, and supported by a small presence in Kampala, but we also have small regional offices in other parts of Uganda.

About the Role
You will deliver reliable, safe, and punctual driving services to One Acre Fund staff, visitors, and transporting inputs and goods and ensures safety and security of the vehicle, passengers, and any items under your care during transport. You will report to the Transport Supervisor in Corporate Operations Department working mainly out of the Mukono, Uganda with travel around Uganda.

Responsibilities
You will transport OAF staff, visitors, inputs, goods, and documentation to designated work-related destinations safely
You will coordinate logistics for transportation, including scheduling pick-up and drop-off times, optimizing routes, and anticipating potential delays or obstacles to ensure arrivals and departures.
You will monitor and inspect vehicles, ensuring that they are in optimal condition for safe and efficient operation
You will document and maintain accurate daily records for vehicles, meticulously logging all trips, mileage covered and any maintenance activities.

Qualifications
Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. For this role specifically, you will have:

3 years of experience as a driver with a valid class B drivers license (both automatic and manual)
Minimum O'Level certificate.
First Aid, fire safety and minor vehicle repair skills.
Knowledge of driving rules and regulations, chauffeur protocol and courtesies, and local roads.
Fluency in verbal English, local language is an added advantage
