Lifting Hands International is looking for a motivated and practical Volunteer Logistics Assistant in Greece to support the day-to-day operations of our centre, apartments, warehouse, and freeshop.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and learning new practical skills in a dynamic environment.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

About Us

Lifting Hands International operates a community center in Serres, a small city about an hour from Thessaloniki in Northern Greece. We work with a population of 1000+ refugees & asylum seekers at the local camps, providing regular aid distributions and a range of psychosocial support programs.

Main Responsibilities

You will work closely with the Logistics Manager and support across several areas:

Maintenance and basic repairs in apartments and the Centre
Bikes inventory and would involve, leading regular bike shift with other volunteers and facilitating the bike workshop on field.
Supporting the running and organisation of the Freeshop
Helping in the warehouse with stock movement, organisation, and upkeep
Occasional field support when needed
General practical support across logistics operations
What we’re looking for

Some experience using basic tools (or strong willingness to learn)
A valid driving licence
Enthusiasm to learn practical skills such as:
Basic electrical work
Plumbing
Small engine or mechanical repairs
General handyman tasks
A proactive, reliable, and hands-on attitude
Ability to work as part of a team in a busy environment
