CPCD provides high-quality assessments, evaluations, capacity building, Third-Party Monitoring (TPM), research, and training services delivered by experienced teams specializing in complex, humanitarian, and development contexts.

CPCD is currently engaged in research, monitoring, evaluation, and data collection assignments and is seeking experienced, motivated, and culturally sensitive Data Collectors and Field Coordinators to support remote survey data collection activities in Egypt.

2. Overall Objective of the Assignment

The primary objective of the assignment is to collect high-quality, reliable, and verifiable survey data from targeted respondents in Egypt through remote data collection methods, while strictly adhering to ethical guidelines, data protection standards, informed consent procedures, and project protocols.

3. Positions Available

A) Field Coordinator
Duty Station: Remote, with coordination of data collection activities in Egypt
Type of Assignment: Remote coordination, team follow-up, data quality monitoring, and reporting

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the main focal point for coordinating remote survey data collection activities.
Coordinate daily implementation plans and schedules for Data Collectors.
Support the mobilization, orientation, and follow-up of researchers/data collectors assigned to the project.
Ensure smooth coverage of assigned respondent groups, geographic areas, or sample targets in Egypt.
Monitor daily progress and ensure that data collection targets are achieved without compromising data quality or ethical standards.
Conduct regular briefings and debriefings with data collectors to discuss progress, challenges, and lessons learned.
Coordinate closely with CPCD’s project management and M&E teams on progress, challenges, risks, and corrective actions.
Submit regular progress updates, including achievements, challenges, risks, and recommendations.
B) Remote Researcher / Data Collector
Duty Station: Remote
Type of Assignment: Remote survey data collection in Egypt through phone calls, online surveys, digital tools, or other approved remote methods

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Assignment Preparation

Participate fully in all mandatory training sessions on data collection tools, methodology, ethical guidelines, PSEA, Do No Harm, confidentiality, informed consent, and the use of digital data collection platforms.
Thoroughly study and understand questionnaires, consent scripts, referral pathways, and research procedures.
Participate in pilot testing of tools and provide feedback to improve clarity, flow, and applicability for remote survey data collection.
Remote Data Collection

Conduct remote survey data collection with assigned respondents in Egypt using approved methods such as phone calls, online interviews, digital surveys, or other remote communication channels.
Contact and approach respondents respectfully and professionally, in line with approved project procedures.
Conduct high-quality survey data collection according to approved protocols and instructions.
Conduct interviews in the language preferred by the respondent, primarily Arabic, or other relevant languages where required.
Ensure neutrality in questioning, avoid leading respondents, and probe appropriately for clarification where needed.
Accurately record responses using approved digital data collection platforms such as Kobo Toolbox, Kobo Collect, ODK, Google Forms, or other assigned systems.
Maintain daily or weekly productivity targets while ensuring data quality, respondent safety, and ethical compliance.
Data Quality, Ethics, and Reporting

Perform daily checks of collected data and notes for completeness, consistency, and accuracy before submission.
Submit completed surveys and field notes regularly to the Field Coordinator or CPCD project team for review.
Safeguard all respondent information, contact details, consent records, recordings, notes, and any personally identifiable information.
Maintain strict confidentiality and never discuss respondent details outside the authorized project team.
Uphold the highest ethical standards, including Core Humanitarian Standards, PSEA, Do No Harm, and data protection principles.
Support referral pathways for urgent protection or humanitarian cases according to established procedures, where applicable.
Participate in regular briefings and debriefings on progress, challenges, lessons learned, and recommendations.
4. Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

A) Field Coordinator
Essential

Applicants may be based in Egypt or in other countries, provided they are able to coordinate remote data collection with respondents in Egypt.
Good knowledge of Egyptian culture, context, and community dynamics.
Fluency in Arabic is required.
Previous experience in data collection, research, coordination, supervision, or team follow-up.
Ability to coordinate data collectors, follow up on daily progress, and support data quality checks.
Good communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to use phones, laptops, online communication tools, and digital data collection platforms.
Ability to submit clear progress updates and report challenges in a timely manner.
Commitment to confidentiality, informed consent, neutrality, and ethical data collection.
Desirable

Previous experience coordinating remote surveys, phone interviews, or online data collection.
Experience using Kobo Toolbox, Kobo Collect, ODK, or similar platforms.
Basic English language skills.
Previous work with NGOs, research firms, consultancy companies, international organizations, or M&E projects.
B) Remote Researcher / Data Collector
Essential

Applicants may be based in Egypt or in other countries, provided they are able to conduct remote surveys with respondents in Egypt.
Fluency in Arabic is required.
Good communication skills and ability to speak with respondents respectfully and professionally.
Previous experience in surveys, interviews, research, data collection, customer service, call center work, or similar roles.
Ability to follow questionnaires, scripts, consent procedures, and project instructions accurately.
Ability to conduct phone-based or online surveys clearly and professionally.
Ability to use a phone, laptop, tablet, smartphone, or online data collection platform.
Access to a reliable phone, internet connection, and a suitable environment for conducting calls or online interviews.
Commitment to confidentiality, informed consent, neutrality, and ethical data collection.
Desirable

Previous experience conducting remote surveys, phone interviews, online surveys, or Key Informant Interviews.
Experience using Kobo Toolbox, Kobo Collect, ODK, or similar platforms.
Basic English language skills.
Familiarity with Egyptian communities, culture, and dialects.
Previous experience with NGOs, research firms, consultancy companies, humanitarian projects, development projects, or M&E assignments.
5. Working Conditions

This is a remote assignment focused on survey data collection in Egypt.
Data collection may be conducted through phone calls, online interviews, digital surveys, or other approved remote communication channels.
Data Collectors and Field Coordinators may be required to work according to specific schedules depending on respondent availability.
The work may involve interaction with vulnerable individuals and discussion of sensitive topics.
All team members must follow CPCD’s safeguarding, ethical, data protection, and operational procedures at all times.
All data, respondent information, and project materials must be handled with strict confidentiality.
