Aim of the internship:

The Communication and Advocacy Intern will contribute to raising awareness of the situation of people on the move in Greece and France, while strengthening the visibility of Yoga and Sports with Refugees (YSR), its activities, and its impact.

This internship offers a unique opportunity to combine academic learning with hands-on experience in a grassroots organization supporting displaced people, including asylum seekers and refugees. The intern will contribute to communication, advocacy, fundraising, and community-building efforts, helping amplify the voices and experiences of people on the move and highlight the role of sports in fostering inclusion, well-being, and solidarity.

Work Tasks:

On the Ground Communication

Design flyers for events, schedules of the gym and invitations for classes
Take pictures and videos in YSR activities such as classes, competitions, events or teamtrips
Support fundraising campaigns by documenting activities, communicating their impact, and creating engaging content for donors and supporters.
Help ensure consistent and accessible communication about the organization's work and mission.
Social Media and Advocacy

Create, prepare, and publish engaging content for YSR's social media platforms, including Instagram and TikTok.
Raise awareness of the challenges faced by people on the move, promoting messages of dignity, inclusion, and human rights.
Share stories and updates about YSR's activities and their impact on participants and the wider community.
Contribute creative ideas to strengthen the organization's online presence and advocacy efforts.
Partnerships

In collaboration with a manager, build new partnerships and maintain exciting ones.
Produce and edit videos and other communication materials showcasing YSR's activities and impact for partners, donors, and supporters.
Contribute to fundraising and outreach initiatives by preparing relevant content and materials.
Monthly Reports

Design and write the monthly report for our network updating on the activities in the project and changes in the context
In the gym

Support with taking shifts at the gym
Keep attendance and registration of visitors
Follow the cleaning tasks
Participate in classes
Onboard new volunteers on their shifts
Work closely with the team on the ground, contributing to the daily activities and community life of the organization.
Requirements - Competences and Qualifications

Minimum age of 21
Commitment of at least 3 months; if possible, start in January 2027
Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
Strong organizational and time management skills
Independence and previous NGO experience are preferred
Interest in communication, advocacy, and event organization.
Creativity and an interest in photography, video production, graphic design, or social media communication.
Willingness to learn, take initiative, and embrace new challenges.
Flexibility, adaptability, and a proactive approach to work.
Passion for Sports and Human Rights
Some experience in administrative tasks
