Description

Empowervan is looking for a passionate and dedicated Field Volunteer to join our team on the ground in Athens. Our mission is to prevent violence and empower displaced women through movement and self-defense. We operate by the refugee camps near Athens, where we drive to on a weekly basis and teach Empowerment Self Defense courses.

We are looking for a passionate female person to join our team in Athens, as a sport volunteer.

We are Looking For:

Teaching Skills: Ability to teach sport, self-defense, or martial arts.
Gender Requirement: Female applicants only (due to the nature of our work).
Personal Attributes: Adaptable, well-organized, able to work independently, and at least 22 years old.
Experience: Prior experience working with displaced communities or minorities is preferred.
Availability:
Commitment of at least 24 hours per week.
Able to be on the ground in Athens for a minimum of 6 weeks.

Additional Skills (Preferred but Not Required):

Media management.
Grant writing.
Networking and community outreach.
Monitoring and Evaluation.
Important Notes:
This is an unpaid volunteer position.
Applicants must be self-sufficient and able to cover their own expenses during the volunteering period.
