Position Description
The Procurement Officer will be responsible for overseeing all procurement and logistic activities for the organization. This role involves ensuring efficient procurement and distribution of materials, custody and maintaining records in compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
This position is part of the Operations team and the Officer reports to the Hashemi Community Center and Operations Manager and works closely also with CRP staff at all levels.
Key Responsibilities:
Work in a dynamic and informal environment in East Amman to manage procurement activities at the two community centers in the Amman Downtown and in Hashemi Shamali. Oversee CRP inventory. Manage relations with CRP suppliers.
A) Logistics Coordination, Procurement and Inventory Management:
Identify procurement needs and develop procurement plans .
Source suppliers and obtain quotations for goods and services.
Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors and third parties.
Coordinate the transportation of goods and materials to and from various locations.
Oversee shipping, receiving, and warehousing activities.
Monitor delivery schedules and address any delays or issues promptly.
Implement efficient logistics strategies to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.
Ensure compliance with external regulations and internal policies.
Maintain and update contact databases of suppliers.
Maintain stock balances.
Undertake additional responsibilities as instructed by your line manager.
Qualifications and Skills:
Excellent written and spoken Arabic and English.
Bachelor's degree desired or equivalent work experience.
2-3 years of experience in procurement, logistics and warehousing.
Preferred to be having a vehicle and valid driver's license.
Strong computer skills especially Excel.
Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of donor funding regulations and compliance requirements is desirable.
