Role overview
The Programme Performance Coordinator plays a vital role coordinating the delivery and performance monitoring of the ‘Supporting Sustainable Foundations for Newborn and Child Health in Nepal’ programme, implemented by the Royal College of Paediatric and Child Health (RCPCH) Global, the Nepal Paediatric Society (NEPAS) and the Paediatric Nurses Association of Nepal (PNAN).
The role plays a critical liaison function between the UK team, local partners and programme hospitals in Nepal and a range of other stakeholders. The role is responsible for effective coordination of all areas of programme delivery and performance monitoring including reporting; supporting programme staff, local partners and volunteers in their deliverables; and coordinating programme workshops, meetings, logistics and administration.
Job Description
Programme liaison and coordination
Liaise between RCPCH Global, local partners, hospitals, programme colleagues and volunteers, to support strong relationships and overall effective coordination of the programme
Liaise with regional stakeholders, including Ministry and other paediatric or nursing stakeholders, to support strong relationships and operational delivery and strategic development of the programme
Lead coordination of all programme activity planning, delivery and development, including liaison with suppliers and other stakeholders involved in programme delivery
Provide support to NEPAS Central and Lumbini, as well as programme colleagues and volunteers – in coordination with RCPCH Global – to ensure everyone is clear on the programme objectives and deliverables as set by the donor and able to carry out their roles to support the achievement of programme objectives and activities
Provide day-to-day practical support for programme volunteers, including housing and furnishings, utilities, transport, visas and permits, engagement and communication with hospitals as required and also providing out-of-hours (evenings, weekends and national holidays) support in the case of emergencies
Support on the procurement, delivery and maintenance of clinical equipment used within the programme
Work closely with the Finance Officer and RCPCH Global, to ensure programme financial management is aligned with programme delivery and performance monitoring
2. Programme performance monitoring and reporting
Lead all areas of programme performance monitoring and reporting, together with RCPCH Global
Design performance monitoring tools aligned with donor requirements, to report on agreed programme indicators and associated Hospital Improvement Plans
Support effective monitoring of programme performance, including supporting programme colleagues, local partners, volunteers and other stakeholders to input into performance monitoring tools and ensure information is accurate and up-to-date
Support delivery of high-quality narrative reporting between RCPCH and local partners to the donor, including thorough programme updates and progress against agreed performance indicators, ensuring all reports adhere to donor compliance, relevant policies and procedures and are delivered on time
Travel between programme hospitals in Lumbini Province to monitor programme performance and the collection of accurate programme performance data and reporting
Support preparation for and execution of external audits of the programme, either by the donor or by an external auditor
3. Workshops, meetings, logistics and administration
Arrange workshops and meetings, invite attendees, source materials, record meeting notes and actions and complete meeting follow up
Lead in-country programme logistics, including booking accommodation, workshop and meeting rooms, technical support, materials, transportation, meals and refreshments, to support overall programme coordination and delivery
Lead logistics for programme visits, either from programme colleagues from the UK or other parts of Nepal or the donor, including booking accommodation, workshop and meeting rooms, technical support, materials, transportation and arranging meals and refreshments
Arrange sourcing of equipment or other items and printing of resources as required
Manage effective programme administration, including ensuring all administrative requirements from the donor and Nepal and UK legal requirements are in place, kept up to date and all documentation is up to date and securely stored

Person specification
Suitable qualification at graduate or masters level in international development, public health, global health, health systems strengthening & child health, or equivalent work experience
Significant experience in programme/project management and performance monitoring in an INGO/NGO setting and with complex multi-stakeholder programmes
Experience designing and implementing programme performance monitoring tools for international donor-funded programmes
Knowledge and experience working on newborn and child health-focused programmes in Nepal (desirable)
Experience supporting international volunteers deployed into programmes (desirable)
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage a varied workload with competing demands and meet deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor communication effectively to a wide range of audiences
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build strong and productive relationships at a range of levels across programme colleagues, donors, INGO/NGOs, Ministry and wider Government
Ability to produce work with a high level of accuracy
Ability to work well independently and as part of a team – both in-person and remotely
Fluency in written and spoken Nepali and English language
Willingness to travel between programme hospitals in Lumbini Province, to support programme performance monitoring (travel allowance will be provided)
Willingness to offer support to programme participants outside of normal working hours from time to time
